What to Do Next

• Study the topic through reading the text, watching the videos, or a combination of the two. After logging in to MyEducator, use the "Contents" dropdown menu at the top of the screen. Alternatively, you can use the "Contents" menu that appears on the left side of the screen. Once you have selected a Topic, you can navigate among the different sections using the Topic table of contents on the left side of the screen.

• If you want to read a section, just scroll down the screen. It might be a good idea to quickly scan the written material to get an idea of what is being covered.

TIP - Accelerate Speed of Video
To speed up or slow down the videos, select the Beta video player. To turn on the Beta video player, open Advanced Options from the right-hand toolbar. If you have any trouble with playback of a particular video, you can always switch back to the "Standard" player by again going to Advanced Options and turning off the Beta video player.

• Review the PowerPoint slides that match the video narrative for each section of the course.  From the MyEducator "Course" menu in the top right corner of the screen, select "Materials." In the bottom half of this list you see "PowerPoint Slides." Here is where you can download PowerPoint slide images for each of the topics. These slides contain a nice summary of the key points of the study assignments. These slides also are a nice tool for note‐taking if you decide to watch or listen to the video clips.

• If you want to watch or listen to the video lectures, just click on the "Play" arrow in the black box. Of course, if the guy doing the video lecture is speaking too slowly, speed him up by clicking on the white box in the top right corner of the video play box.

These are practice problems (with solutions) that reinforce the key points in the MyEducator topics. You can access these Problems and Solutions in two ways. First, a download link is located in the Key Points located at the beginning of each MyEducator Topic. Alternatively, the Problems and Solutions can be found in the Materials list under the "Course" dropdown menu in the top right corner of the screen. There you can download a Word document containing problems and solutions. Work through these.

When you are ready, launch a Mastery Assessment in MyEducator by following these steps.

• Click on the "Course" dropdown menu in the top right corner of the screen.  Select "Assessments."

• Click on the appropriate Mastery Assessment link in the list. – Note that there are three Mastery Assessments (A, B, and C) for each Topic. You can choose to do any or all of them. More about this below.

• These Assessments are open‐note. So, as you study the MyEducator Topic, it makes sense to take good notes.  Make your selections.

• Before submitting your Assessment, confirm that you have indicated a response to each question and also confirm that you haven't accidently changed any of your responses.

• Click "Submit Now."

• You will see your Assessment results, along with the correct answers to the questions you missed. Use these results to help you determine which parts of the Topic you need to study more.

• Read through or watch the Topic material.

• Complete the Problems and Solutions.

• Choose and complete ONE of the Mastery Assessments (A, B, or C) for that Topic.

• Use your results on the Mastery Assessment to tell you which items you need to study more. Do that additional study.

• Choose another Mastery Assessment for that Topic.

• If needed, study some more and then complete the third Mastery Assessment for that Topic.

• The Mastery Assessments are intended to help you evaluate your understanding of the Topic material. The FINAL EXAMs (aka Post Tests) are to allow you to demonstrate your understanding.

• This course involves two FINAL EXAMS … one after Topic 6 (the Financial Accounting FINAL EXAM) and one after Topic 12 (the Managerial Accounting FINAL EXAM).

• Do NOT take a FINAL EXAM before you have prepared yourself by studying ALL of the Topic covered in that FINAL EXAM.

• Each version of the FINAL EXAM contains 30 questions.

• The time limit, once you launch a FINAL EXAM, is 120 minutes.

• As with the Mastery Assessments, the FINAL EXAMs are open note.
